J. D. Livingston was the longtime producer of the “GBE,” currently heard on WBAI on Saturdays from 5-7 PM. “Thank you for your kindness” was not just the way that he acknowledged our individual efforts, it was the essence of his interaction with members of the community whether one was “ordinary” or influential.

Join Imhotep Gary Byrd, Rev. Al Sharpton and J.D.’s biological, community, and radio families in celebration of the time we had with him.

2. Helping Sharan Harper

Sharan Harper served as the Producer of “Wake Up Call” for nearly 20 years until she and 18 others were laid off last August. Many of you will also remember her as a co-host of “Emanations” and, outside of WBAI, for her work with Physicians for Social Responsibility and at City College.

Sharan has faced a chronic and debilitating medical condition that has left her virtually homebound for many years. Now, after a crisis, she has been moved into a rehabilitation facility.
