Platform
Justice & Unity Platform (2024)
The Justice & Unity Campaign platform expresses our intention to:
- ensure the recovery, long term financial sustainability and viability of WBAI and all of Pacifica in the face of decreasing funding for public media
- create a WBAI board that is collaborative, respectful, responsible and effective, and practices social justice principles
- recruit, train and support the next generation of media leaders
- implement media training programs to open spaces for disfranchised segments of the population (such as newly-arrived immigrant communities)
- amplify the voices actively opposed to all injustices including the climate crisis, imperialism, neocolonialism, capitalism, racism, and discrimination
- expand the news and information programming to include regional and global dialog
- support the paid staff and encourage the organization of the unpaid staff in hiring, retention, and termination processes, and all other worker-related issues
- promote programming collaborations with other independent media and non-governmental organizations
- commit to forming a global vision with all Pacifica affiliations.
