Doc Shya, understands WBAI, the media entity, must THRIVE. Bare survival isn’t appropriate. We have all the tools to become the total media entity. We have a storied history, which I have supported and listened to since high school. We can and should project an even more robust future.

Our producers are in the main, second to none. They need our complete support in projecting this stellar future. The world needs us to fulfill our promise. We can seize this opportunity; with the right LSB, station administration, producers and expanded listeners in all signal areas and beyond.

Times Up for uselessness. Like our climate, WBAI teeters @ the extinction brink. We can no longer abdicate leadership or process, to irrelevant, political, internecine conflict. Our members and producers are and deserve better. I will do better and put my energies, skills and monies, with and behind my words. My outreach to numerous universities, non profits and community providers, has proven WBAI is intriguing to many in the Westchester, NJ and the entire NY and global areas.

Unfortunately, most know nothing about us! Why? Again, WBAI must thrive not merely survive. Incorporating all the communities in the signal area and beyond, will ensure we do.

Doc Shya, a wholistic doctor, wealth coach, entrepreneur; one of the pioneers in her field, understands what is necessary in diverse systems, which often work against their own best interests. I understand what is necessary in a diverse system, which is often working against its own best interests. I must bring all parts together, even professionals who have a starkly different approach, to form a viable, progressing whole. I understand how to disagree vehemently, without tolerating mendacity, being disagreeable or passive-aggressive. It is common for clients to want useful things to occur, while doing everything to work against this. I have gained the tools to work with these very typical types, while still bringing them to desired fruitful outcomes. The same tools will be used at WBAI, with bountiful outcomes.

As a high school student mentor, creator of a wellness and wealth provider curriculum, member and founder of numerous community based organizations, and martial arts teacher, working individually and collectively is paramount in all I accomplish. Usefulness to WBAI and our talent, not personal credit or self aggrandizement is my only concern.

WBAI like clients, often wants useful things to occur, while doing everything to work against this. I have gained the tools to work with these very typical types, while bringing them to desired fruitful outcomes. These same tools are applicable to WBAI achieving bountiful outcomes.

We’re all here for necessary change. Many are ready to sustain WBAI; media entity. Arise candidates, and a few others are ready, moving forward. Join Us Now. Samori Marksmen and all the elders, blazed our glorious past, and watch. Will we blaze gloriously again?

WBAI Candidate Questionnaire

  • What experience, connections, skills or traits would you bring to the local station board to advance the station’s mission?

As a Small Business Owner, MBA and Wholistic Doctor, I understand the need to integrate needs against realities, especially recalcitrance and lack of funding. Additionally, I’m an advocate for students and mentor to high school students looking to fund, and academically prepare for the university, with and without authorized residency or citizenship.

  • What do you appreciate and value in the station’s current operations?

With continual opportunities for engagement with the board and programmers, the community can express their concerns, see how we produce content and engage all parties. This involvement with community allows the listener base to expand and support the station and Pacifica, loyally.

  • What would you like to see improved or changed in the station’s current operations?

Much greater engagement with the listeners by the LSB, programmers, and Pacifica. More in person events. More live show productions, which can also be taped through other like minded media outlets.

  • Describe what you anticipate would be your top three priorities or areas of focus if you were elected to the local station board.

Targeted grants. Sponsorships of specific shows/needs. Legacy giving.

  • Sustainability is an important part of any nonprofit operation. What are your thoughts on how the board can help to improve the station’s financial footing?

To facilitate the strength and growth of WBAI as a full media enterprise, through engagement of all ages, generations and regions of “the people” and integrating cooperative short and legacy financing.

  • Is there anything else you would like prospective voters to know?

As a Small Business Owner, MBA and Wholistic Doctor, I understand how to integrate needs against realities, especially recalcitrance and lack of immediate funding. Additionally, I’m an advocate for students and mentor to high school students looking to fund, and academically prepare for the university, with and without authorized residency or citizenship. Working cooperatively with all communities and addressing their stated needs, we can sustain and thrive financially, presently and long into the future.
