Progressive attorney Lynne Stewart, a former member of the WBAI Local Station Board, is serving 10 years for defending an unpopular client. At 73, she is battling a recurrence of breast cancer that has metastasized. The warden of her Texas prison has approved her compassionate release, but the head of the Federal Bureau of Prisons says she's not close enough to dying to be sent home to her family and doctors.
