1. Support WBAI During MLK Special – Bernard White to Co-host Afternoon Program
The schedule for WBAI’s daylong special celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. has been announced. Running from 6 AM to 12 midnight, it will include the best of MLK speeches, and discussion by many producers and guests about how Dr. King and the civil rights movement informs the present, including today’s Black Lives Matter movement.
This will include a special presentation from 1 – 7 PM by Bernard White and Dred Scott Keyes, with speeches of Dr. King, music, special guests and panels to discuss current-day issues.
Also, from 7 PM to 12 midnight, there will be a Building Bridges Special on Dr. King’s impact on labor and social movements, with Mimi Rosenberg and Ken Nash.
