1. WBAI Town Hall Meeting
After more than 6 years, the Local Station Board (LSB), has addressed its obligation to hold Town Hall meetings. Come out and speak up!

TOPIC: The Role and Responsibility of Media: How Well WBAI Serves Area Communities, or Not
WHEN: Wednesday, March 25, 2015, 7-8:30 PM

WHO: You, your neighbors & friends, WBAI Management, and the Local Station Board
WHY: Pacifica’s bylaws require the LSB to hold town hall meetings at least twice a year, devoted to hearing listeners’ views, needs and concerns
2. WBAI Updates: Station and Local Board Elections
After two years, WBAI is about to move broadcast operations out of City College so that the school can expand its own studio. Pending the decision by the Pacifica National Board, the station may soon have its offices and studios together, likely at The Commons, 388 Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn.
Improvements have been made to the morning and afternoon drive time with locally-based programming, but more work remains and the search has begun for a permanent program director.
Local Station Board elections are fast approaching. They were cancelled in 2013 under former Pacifica Interim Executive Director Summer Reese who also laid off ¾ of WBAI staff in August 2013 and barricaded herself in the national office in Berkeley when she was dismissed in March 2014. To vote and so help build a local board that reflects your views and will work to protect and strengthen the station, make sure you’ve contributed at least $25 between June 16, 2014 and June 15, 2015.

3. Pacifica Update
The Pacifica National Board is in the process of hiring a permanent Pacifica Executive Director. With most stations’ fundraising following the downward trend of non-commercial radio, the national office is juggling bills created by actions of previous managements and facing a multi-year audit by the California Attorney General which some who were in office until last year are claiming to have instigated.
WBAI representatives on the 2015 PNB are: Carolyn Birden, Steve Brown, Janet Coleman, and Cerene Roberts.
4. Support CPRMetro.org (Community Progressive Radio – Online)
PRMetro (http://cprmetro.org), the online station created by Bernard White and Don DeBar, fills important gaps in WBAI programming, including a progressive weekday international newscast, and stands well ahead of NPR.
